I spent the week with other 7 figure business owners. Here’s 3 conversations we DIDN’T have
I just got back from a retreat with some incredible seven-figure business owners, and I’m still buzzing from the experience. You’d think we spent the weekend dissecting groundbreaking strategies and the latest marketing tactics, but what truly struck me were the conversations we didn’t have.
Sometimes what’s missing from the conversation tells you more than what’s actually being said.
The Economy Wasn’t Even a Topic
The economy barely came up. Not once did we dive into the market’s current state or worry about the online sales climate. These seasoned entrepreneurs weren’t rattled by external economic conditions. Instead, they’ve embraced a mindset that empowers them to craft their own success stories, regardless of market shifts.
This is such a radical departure from when I started out, constantly scanning economic forecasts to gauge my next move. For many starting their business journey, it’s tempting to focus on the market’s ups and downs. But there’s far more strength in zoning in on your mission and your clients’ needs.
Step back from the macro distractions and funnel that energy into crafting something truly impactful for your audience. It’s like putting on conceptual blinkers that guide you straight toward what genuinely matters.
We Skipped the “Does This Work?” Conversation
We also bypassed discussions on whether certain strategies work. No dissecting conversion rates or going down the rabbit hole of troubleshooting. In this space, there’s an inherent belief that any strategy can succeed if planned and executed well. The more interesting question was which strategies to prioritise next.
In early entrepreneurship, the trap of reactive fixing is all too familiar. But at this level, it’s about looking ahead, making data-driven decisions and confidently adapting as needed. Every hiccup is merely data, a stepping stone to refine and grow. There’s no room for ego or overthinking.
For these business owners, it’s all just information. They take what they need, adjust and move forward without the drama or self-doubt that can plague earlier stages of business.
No Quick Cash Injection Talk
The absence of quick cash injection strategies was notable. Those fast-money tactics that used to dominate conversations were nowhere to be found. Instead, it was all about long-term vision, building sustainable revenue models and developing products that continually evolve.
The conversations revolved around creating robust systems and assets that diversify income streams, not chasing the next one-time boost. I’m all for practical strategies when needed, but this retreat reminded me of the value in planning several steps ahead.
Whether it’s stacking revenue or planning for slower seasons, it’s about structuring your business in a way that’s adaptable and proactive, not reactive. This kind of thinking creates stability and freedom that quick fixes simply can’t deliver.
What This Means for You
Stepping away from short-sightedness and embracing a mindset of growth and resilience transforms how we lead our businesses. It’s time to challenge ourselves to outgrow conversations that no longer serve the version of us we’re becoming.
Engage with those that do elevate your thinking. Surround yourself with people who are building what you want to build. Create your path with unwavering confidence, knowing that the external noise matters far less than your internal clarity and commitment.
I hope these insights spark something in you like they did for me. Keep reaching for your goals with open eyes and a ready heart.
