My Biggest Life (and Business) Challenge in 2025
As the year draws to a close, I’ve found myself reflecting on what can only be described as an absolute rollercoaster of a year. On the surface, things might look picture-perfect. My daughter Sunny is thriving, my marriage with Che is stronger than ever and our home feels like a little sanctuary. But let’s be honest, the real story is always in the messy middle. This year has tested me in ways I didn’t see coming, and I want to share the real behind-the-scenes with you.
The Beauty and the Battle
If you looked at my life on paper, 2025 would look like a highlight reel. Sunny, our little miracle, has brought so much light into our world. Che and I have found a new depth in our marriage and our home is filled with laughter and love. But underneath all that, I was wrestling with my own internal chaos. My mind felt like a tangled web, and my inner world has had to fight harder than it ever has before.
Motherhood, Ambition and ADHD
Motherhood this year has been both my greatest gift and my biggest challenge. The early days with Sunny were pure magic, but as time went on, the reality of sleepless nights and shifting identity hit hard. I found myself trying to push forward with business goals, but my body and mind kept pulling me back. Realising I was dealing with classic ADHD symptoms was a curveball. Things made sense, but it didn’t make them any easier. Hormones, lack of sleep and a brain that never switches off made every win feel a little harder earnt.
Letting Go to Focus In
When things got tough, I had to get honest with myself and let go of the pressure to do it all. I narrowed my focus to what mattered most: my marriage, my baby and keeping the business steady. The house and the garden could wait, and honestly, so could everything else that wasn’t essential. Giving myself permission to lower the bar in some areas meant I could show up where I was truly needed.
The Power of Honest Conversations
This year, being open about my struggles has been a game changer. Letting Che, my friends and mentors see the unfiltered version of me was scary but grounding. I learnt that you don’t have to carry the load alone. Sometimes, just saying it out loud is enough to lighten it. There’s a strange kind of freedom in letting people see the less-polished parts of your life.
Lessons in Self-Awareness
If 2025 taught me anything, it’s the value of self-awareness. I learnt to spot the difference between a real problem and a passing storm. By accepting the season I was in, instead of fighting it, I found a sense of peace and unexpected growth. Not every year is about smashing goals; sometimes it’s about finding your pace and appreciating the ride, stumbles and all.
Looking Ahead
Heading into 2026, I finally feel like I’m coming up for air. With rest, balance and a bit more perspective, I’m ready to tackle what’s next with a clearer mind. If you’ve found yourself in the thick of it this year, know you’re not alone. These tough seasons do pass, and they leave you stronger on the other side.
Thanks for coming along for the ride with me. Navigating the chaos of life and business isn’t always pretty, but it’s real and it’s worth it. Here’s to meeting the waves with grit and grace.
