Part 1: Behind The Curtain – How We Co-Coach In The Scalable Freedom Mastermind Without Clashin

I’m bringing back your absolute favourite guest, Nivek Harrison, for a special 2 part series. Niv is our incredible online business manager and longtime co-coach here at Swift Ventures and we’re peeling back the curtains on how we co-coach in the Scalable Freedom Mastermind, what it practically looks like behind the scenes and how we work together to serve our clients in the best possible way.

Niv and I have completely different skillsets which makes our dynamic really special and something that I absolutely cherish. If you’ve been curious about adding a co-coach to your mastermind or wondering how the dynamics actually play out behind the scenes, this conversation is for you.

Finding Your Perfect Co-Coaching Match

The foundation of successful co-coaching lies in values alignment paired with complementary strengths. Niv and I are the perfect example of this—while our strategic business visions align completely, our specialties are really different. I focus on marketing and sales, while Niv shines in AI, systems, and integration. We both agree that when looking for the right co-coach, you don’t want someone who is a carbon copy of you. Finding someone who complements you and offers a different perspective is what will actually serve your clients the best.

Trust as the Foundation

The heart of our successful co-coaching collaboration is trust. Niv shared how significant it feels to have the responsibility of coaching our clients and we both agree on the importance of giving co-coaches the freedom to anchor into their leadership. When you trust your co-coach completely, that confidence reflects back to your clients, fostering the safe and supportive mastermind environment everyone craves.

This isn’t about micromanaging or second-guessing each other’s decisions. It’s about creating space for both coaches to show up fully in their expertise while maintaining the cohesive experience your clients signed up for.

When Disagreements Actually Strengthen Your Program

Of course disagreements happen from time to time – and when they do, they’re incredibly  valuable. Our differing viewpoints serve as opportunities to refine our processes and continually improve the support we offer our clients. The key is handling these moments with clear communication and not making it about the other person being wrong.

From a co-coach perspective, Niv shares how it’s important to remove your ego from the situation and always come back to what is best for the business and the client, even if you personal opinion might be slightly different.

Balancing Expertise Without Over-Reliance

One crucial point we addressed is integrating a co-coach’s expertise without making it the sole cornerstone of your mastermind. Niv’s unique contribution to tech and AI isn’t an upfront promise we make, but it delights and surprises our clients, enriching their experience with us.

A question that pops up for a lot of CEO’s might be “what if I find the perfect co-coach and then they leave?” The thing is, your mastermind needs to be able to thrive even if your co-coach moves on. Their expertise should enhance the experience, not become the core foundation it depends on. Otherwise you’ll be on very shaky ground.

Staying Present as the Lead Coach

Despite having Niv’s incredible support, I stay actively present in our mastermind every day because I love it. Personally engaging with our clients not only fulfills me but also upholds the high-touch client experience I promise in my mastermind. This isn’t about being a control freak—it’s about maintaining the integrity of the experience while leveraging the magic that happens when two experts collaborate effectively.

The Systems That Make It Seamless

Behind the scenes, we have really robust systems and processes to make sure we’re keeping track of everything. Regular updates, Slack conversations and consistent documentation of client interactions help us deliver a bespoke experience for each client without the heavy administrative burden.

If you’re considering adding co-coaching to your mastermind or wondering how to make the dynamics work effectively, remember that it starts with finding someone whose strengths complement yours and whose values align with your mission. When you get that foundation right, the magic that unfolds will benefit everyone involved.

Make sure you stay tuned for Part 2 next week.
